Well, I am back, after some fun housesitting for one of my fav pups and kittums, the furry residents of the Huntington house...as you have probably guessed, it's a bit difficult to stay on track with the cat blog when my focus is on caring for another household. But you can all rest assured that I do make sure to spend time with Brutus on a daily basis...so have no fear! Enjoy the massive update and thanks for reading!!

Brutus discovered a new foxhole. The area behind the couch. He keeps attacking with one paw, over the back of the couch.

A few weeks ago, I posted a pic of Brutus being quite curious about the one of my fav pastimes (bubble baths). What I didn't tell you guys is what he does when he isn't leaning over the edge of the tub.

I don't know if he is afraid I'll put him in the bath with me or if he is afraid I'll drown...but generally he will stalk about the house, meowing really loud. Then finally, he'll sit right outside the bathroom and just yowl. Until I concede and get out.

So much for a relaxing bubble bath with a book.

So, it should not be a surprise to anyone to hear that I startle easily. Which is unfortunate, since I like TV shows and movies that are thrillers/drama.

Well, today I was watching a particularly high stress episode of Lost (holy crap, I forgot how addictive that show was...) and I was sitting on pins and needles when the scene went black...a common tactic on this show. And I don't really know why, but I had forgotten about Brutus or something because I saw his outline in the reflection of the TV and almost had a heart attack.

Brutus smells like vanilla lavender because he decided to make friends with the plug air freshner. I guess their are worse things to smell like.

Brutus love playing fetch. He becomes a total spaz but consistently brings the toy back to me to throw again.

After being in Denver last night and all day today, I came home to a very needy cat. He wouldn't even hold still long enough for a picture, so I gave up...sorry it's not super impressive today, but hey...it's life with a cat!

Brutus heard about the Disney purchase of the Star Wars franchise. While his feelings regarding this horrific deal are unknown (and mine are quite clear), he decided to take the moment bust out his Yoda impression.

I couldn't pick just one...but here is a perfect depiction of my morning with Brutus. I think he doesn't like study time.


I thought he was cool to hang out while I studied...

But as soon as I cracked open my book, he decided to turn to civil disobedience.

And when I tried to retrieve some important documents from online, he copped an attitude. Defiance at it's best right here.

I couldn't help but laugh when he tried to steal my homework printouts.

Unfortunately, all his plotting did not work, as I did get my homework completed. Brutus is not really happy about it all. He is currently laying at my feet, pouting.

I have some pretty big weight loss goals this years and so far things have been going really well! Training for my race and eating healthy...it's a great new leaf to be turning over. Brutus, however, refuses to let me work out in the house. I wrote down my workout for the day and he promptly laid on it and bit my fingers if I tried to get it back from him.

Today was really exciting. Yaya, Brady, and Jess came to visit and have tea with Brutus and I. Unfortunately, I think my cat has social anxiety disorder, because he got so overwhelmed, he needed to take a breather outside. He even refused to take pics with the guests. Brutus does not know how to handle celebrity.
