I introduced the harness today. At first, it seemed like things were going to be okay. As you can see in the picture below, Brutus was curious about the new gear.

Well...things deteriorated quickly. I put it on and realized that I had the top part too loose and the bottom part too tight. After much scratching and biting my arms, I was able to take off the harness, adjust and wrestle it back on him. This next video sums up his initial reaction...

I know, the immediate keeling over is hilarious. He momentarily lost the will to live. I apologize for the horrible lighting...I didn't realize how dark my apartment is! After adjusting some lights, I was able to grab the following gem.

Apparently, harnesses will affect the equilibrium of a typical household cat. Poor guy. Crashing around like a drunk on St. Patty's day. But at least it wasn't a total loss. Once Brutus got his footing, he made his way to the coffee table. I put a cushion under there before he came to live with me in hopes that he would claim it as a snuggle spot.

TA-DA! He hasn't moved from that spot yet. Trauma wears a twittums out. Don't worry, I took off the harness shortly after he moved to his new snuggle spot and ended the torture. I am praying that he forgives me quickly and doesn't try to exact revenge on me while I sleep.

  1. Brutus took that pretty well. I expected more thrashing about. Just wait until you hook a leash to the harness...your "walk" might be more of a "drag".

  2. Brutus is PISSED. I love when he just falls over. And he's totally walking around like a drunk. Hysterical!
